Jodie Howell has grown up in Lara and is from a family that has been here for many generations. In 2012, Jodie established her business and is passionate about our community, small local business and employing local staff.
Jodie became a Committee member for 3 years from 2014-2017 in various roles such as Vice President, Events Co coordinator and looking after new members.
After a year off, Jodie is back on board and is excited about the future of LCC and encourages Lara business to become a member.
LCC offers it’s members-the opportunity to connect with other local business with bi/monthly events with guest speakers keeping you up to date.

Nicole Makin-Doherty - vice president
Wyngate Care
Nicole Makin-Doherty grew up in Lara. After starting her own Community Services Organisation and establishing herself in Metro Melb, Nicole knew she wanted to move back to Lara once she had children, to establish her company throughout the Geelong region.
Having set up office in Lara, Nicole’s company Wyngate Care now provides in home support to people with disabilities, the elderly, people with mental health issues, drug & alcohol issues, youth & family services, and general counselling. Since being back in the region, Nicole has opened 2 more companies, D&M Connect; providing vocational training and Empowered Liveability; building houses for people with disabilities to live independently. Nicole first joined Chamber in 2016, and jumped on committee almost straight away to help however she could, and was made Vice President in October 2017. Nicole aims to connect the business community with local community services by providing support to local not for profits & charities and establishing new programs within our region
